Beside coffee, Rwanda produces some of the world’s best teas. The tea route experience is an interesting ecotourism attraction vastly involving local communities. Pfunda Tea Estate and Factory is one of the most sustainable tea companies located in Rubavu district in the Western Province of Rwanda, employing local community members to ensure that the region feels the direct benefits of the business. Other big tea plantations in the Western Province of the Country include the Gisovu tea plantation located in Karongi district , NYABIHU tea plantation on the road to Rubavu and GISAKURA tea plantation in Nyungwe national park.
